Lights, ceiling fans, speakers.... ACTION!!!

Well it has been a little slow this week, but we're counting on the addition of new track lights and ceiling fans to draw more folks into the store. The speakers are going up today, the lights and ceiling fans went up last night thanks to my brother in law Bernie, who moonlights as an electrician and Hal (master ceiling fan assembeler and all round good guy for sticking around and helping out).

The good news is that phase 2 of our move to the upper west side of Wolseley is going smoothly and we should be done by the end of the month. I'm not sure what phase 3 is but it involves us getting a proper sign up. The rest of phase 2 is covering up the inside of the southwest window and making a display area for violins, creating storage for guitar cases and repairs and getting the south shop to a point where you can work in it.

There I've put it in writing......

it has to get done now.

In my effrots to try to create a better atmosphere at the Dog I've made arranements to have track lights and ceiling fans put in this week and next. The addition of a sound system and the completion of our violin wall should get us well on our way. I want to make the store both comfortable and interesting, a blueprint for our new cash desk and the completion of the shop area at the back should finish things off on the inside.

Signage is still being schemed at and will likely be individual raised letters on the front and side with the store name .com and phone number, the tall corner facing west will have some kind of feature.... giant guitar ..... guitar painting/art looking for ideas at this point.

HOBO banjo

Dog days

It's a slow day at the Dog today, lots of repair work to do but not much company of the customer type. Several inquiries about square neck resonators lately, I've got a couple of new ones coming in soon.

The RD52s or Regal Black Lightning, very cool guitar including quarterman cone and stylish Mother of Pearl Lightning bolt in the headstock overlay.

And the other is the Bean Blossom, sporting all the standard features of a resonator guitar and from all reports an outstanding entry level square neck resonator, we'll see when it comes in if is up to the Sled Dog expectations of quality for the money.

The Bean Blossom Hobo banjo looks very promising, an open back banjo with planetary tuners, geared 5th tuner and a maple rim, for $299 it seems to good to be true I'll keep you posted on that one too.
